HAVAS 2019 INTERNSHIP APPLICATION
In 2019, Havas sent out an open call to anyone who wanted to work there: send a postcard from the world you want to create and you just might hear back. This prompt immediately hit a chord with me: I specifically chose to major in advertising because I wanted to see a world where love and empathy come first and we validate the lives of those who are often underrepresented in media. I firmly believed that advertising played a great role in shaping society’s values. And here was an agency fully acknowledging the prominence of advertising, and was asking to see my perspective.
That being said, this internship application pulled at me more than any other listing that I saw that year. I spent weeks racking my brain on how to visualize my dreams for the world, and literally the night before it was due, it hit me. I have a soft spot for children’s cartoons, and I knew a 2D digital rendering wasn’t good enough for me, so I made a collage and encased it in vellum paper with a TV set I design printed on top.
I got the job! And it was my ticket to NY. And it’s been more than a year later and I’m still so grateful for this opportunity and what it’s brought me. Still, to this day, I am working towards a world that is open to silliness, unrealistic goals, and full of learning and individuality.

POSTERS
On the left is a motivational poster assignment I had for a class. The prompt was to design a poster around a quote about drawing on pen and paper before approaching digitizing it.
On the right is a movie poster I made for fun about the Netflix documentary, Shirkers.

CHIPS
An illustration series about the woes of eating tortilla chips. Sometimes you get a really awful brand and the chips are break under a heavier dip, sometimes you have to get another chip to perform a rescue mission, and sometimes it just gets SOGGY.

FRIENDSHIP STICKERS
For Valentine’s Day one year, I decided to make a sticker sheet for my best friends and our pets.

ANIMATION EXERCISES
In college, I took a motion production course and while it did definitely kill my dreams of becoming a cartoon animator, it was really fun to learn the process of animation basics, like rotoscopes, GIF building, and discovering that After Effects, unfortunately, sometimes requires coding.
